DIY Friday: Necktie Glasses Case

DIY glasses case via tweenidy

Hi, my wonderful readers. Welcome to DIY Friday.
Today we are going to make a glasses case out of old or thrift store neckties.

The supplies you are going to need are:
One necktie
A pair of  scissors
A needle and thread
A sewing machine (optional)
 A button or Velcro
And a seam ripper

These are the ties I bought.

First, you are going to need to cut the end of the tie off approximately 1 1/2 inches larger than your pair glasses.

Next, turn the tie inside out and rip the seam. Once you have done that remove the lining (the white part that you see pictured above).

Hand stitch the (green)edges together as shown below

Turn right side out and fold in the bottom about 1/2 to 1 inch and top stitch (I did mine with a sewing machine).

Once you have top stitched across the bottom choose your closure. I chose a button.

Stitch the button on.

Make a button hole in the point of the tie...

and your done.

I hope you enjoyed the tutorial and don't forget to try it yourself.
